After Prime Minister Kevin Rudd Left Benedict House Sunday Morning, after his “Step Into Skills“ press conference, the incumbent member for Eden-Monaro, Mike Kelly, commented on what the program would mean for people in Queanbeyan and Eden-Monaro.
Mike Kelly Comments
Mike Kelly said “It is a very important issue for us here in Queanbeyan. We have a very young demographic. It’s important that we are providing the opportunity for our kids to be properly skilled and educated, in a very competitive world and a very competitive region.”
The Eden-Monaro region has some great startup companies, Mike Kelly says. Some of these companies came out of the “Clean Energy Future” package and investments in renewable energy projects. There are also plans to improve tourism and the hospitality industry in the region. Most importantly, out of these things come the potential for very rewarding, well-paid jobs.
Dr. Kelly has been very active throughout his district. He was elected to the House of Representatives for Eden-Monaro, NSW at the 2007 federal election and reelected at the 2010 federal election.
